and Modalities
-
Individual counseling is a type of mental health service provided by a licensed therapist to help people work through personal issues, such as stress, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, and more. It is a confidential, client-centered approach to therapy that focuses on helping the individual reach their goals and improve their overall mental health and wellbeing. The counselor will typically work with the client to identify their problem areas, develop coping strategies and techniques, and create an action plan to help the individual move forward.
-
Couples Counseling is a form of therapeutic work that focuses on helping couples improve their relationship. Through the use of a mediator, effective communication, and conflict resolution skills, a couples counselor can help couples, families, and even friends, resolve issues and create healthier bonds. The aim of couples counseling is to create a safe, supportive environment in which both parties can discuss their challenges and emotions openly and honestly, and develop strategies to better understand and manage their relationship.
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Parts Work/IFS (Internal Family Systems) are psychotherapeutic techniques that focus on resolving traumatic memories, reducing psychological distress, and building a strong and harmonious internal system. EMDR focuses on using bilateral stimulation (eye movements, sounds, or tapping) to process the traumatic event and reduce its intensity, while Parts Work focuses on understanding the internal parts of the individual and how they interact with each other while strengthening the core adult self. Both approaches can be used to help people identify and resolve internal conflicts and traumatic experiences.

Many of us need a safe place to make sense of evolving spiritual beliefs and values and intentional religious trauma healing. I offer a space to process the trauma of negative religious experiences that may have resulted in shame, confusion, and feeling spiritually homeless. This work involves recognizing and understanding the impact of rigid, oppressive, and toxic beliefs due to religious teaching, practices and institutions, as well as exploring strategies to cope with the past and give birth to a new and flourishing spiritual life and practice.

LET’S TALK
The Session Experience
In a typical session, you can expect to work with a range of modalities suited to your unique being and what is showing up in your life at the time. We will take our first sessions to identify what goals you have and design a treatment path that feels empowering for you.
In this space we listen deeply.
We slow down to breathe.
We normalize the human experience.
We name and feel emotions.
We utilize evidence based therapies to support healing and growth.
We explore truer and more loving expressions of God
and cultivate healthy spirituality.
We acknowledge and comfort our inner child selves.
We honor laughter and tears.
We call out toxic belief systems.
We celebrate courage, vulnerability, and resilience.
We befriend the most annoying and painful parts of us.
We get curious about how past and current wounds show up in our bodies and behaviors today.
We learn to regulate our nervous systems.
We expose oppressive systems and work towards justice, equality and freedom for all.
We practice listening to our bodies.
We create new neural pathways that will lead us into a healthier and more present life.
We grow in our skills to navigate the wild terrain of what it is to be human.
